In some cases, anonymized data may be used for research or service improvement purposes. Data collected for surveys is not shared externally and is retained for a maximum of one year.

The TCF Canada exam is open to anyone 16 years of age or older. There are no academic or educational prerequisites, making the test accessible to all candidates who need official proof of French language proficiency.

The TCF Canada provides accommodation options for candidates with disabilities or those who may face challenges using digital testing systems.

To request accommodations, you must submit a medical certificate to your test centre before registering. This document should:

• Clearly explain the nature of the disability or condition

If a test centre identifies difficulties related to digital literacy, it may arrange additional assistance or alternative formats, such as completing the written expression test by hand.

All accommodation requests are reviewed by France Éducation international, which then informs the test centre of any approved arrangements.

If you are officially exempted from certain exam sections, you will only be charged for the tests you take.

Once your registration is completed, it is considered final, and exam fees are non-refundable.

If you need to cancel before the exam date or are unable to attend due to serious and documented reasons (such as illness, professional obligations, or the death of an immediate family member), you must submit official supporting documents to your test centre (for example, a medical certificate or employer letter).

Each request is reviewed by France Éducation international. In approved cases, you may be offered the option to reschedule your exam without additional fees.

If you cancel without valid justification or do not attend the exam without notice, no refund or rescheduling will be provided. By registering, you accept these conditions.

Any form of fraud, falsification, or behavior that disrupts the proper conduct of the TCF Canada exam is taken very seriously and may lead to disciplinary action by France Éducation international.

Candidates must not engage in any of the following:

• Looking at or copying another candidate’s work
• Using the internet or any communication device (phones, smartwatches, tablets, etc.)
• Consulting books, notes, papers, or digital materials
• Submitting memorized or pre-written content
• Written and spoken responses must be original
• Repeating articles or learned texts is considered plagiarism
• Altering or falsifying a TCF results certificate

Exam materials are confidential. Recording, copying, photographing, or sharing exam content in any form (including social media) is strictly forbidden.

If an incident is reported:

• The candidate is notified by email within 48 hours
• The notification explains the situation and the candidate’s right to respond
• The candidate may submit written explanations within 15 days
• The case is reviewed by a disciplinary committee
• A final decision is communicated by registered mail

Candidates may choose to be represented by legal counsel during this process.

If fraud is confirmed, one or more of the following may apply:

• Cancellation of exam results
• Temporary ban from taking the TCF Canada exam
• Up to 1 year for cheating during the exam
• Up to 2 years for identity fraud or certificate forgery

After completing the sanction period, candidates are allowed to retake the exam.

Candidates have the right to appeal the decision within two months of receiving the official notification.

Canadian and Quebec immigration authorities, as well as educational institutions, have direct access to official TCF results. Any irregularity may affect immigration, citizenship, or academic applications.

Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of TCF exam content may lead to:

• Invalidation of results
• A ban from future exams
• Legal action, where applicable

If your physical keyboard does not include French-specific characters, an on-screen virtual keyboard will be available during the exam, allowing you to easily insert accented letters and special characters as needed.

When updating your IRCC profile, enter your TCF Canada scores using the values shown in the “Old equivalence score” section of your official results certificate.

• Test Results Form / Certificate Number: Use the first part of the number displayed at the bottom-left of your certificate (before the dash).
• PIN: This is the second part of the same number, located after the dash.
